Tessa,while I apreciate your stance on the issue I cant help to not notice how you keep repeating the same old mantra about how poor honest gipsies are persecuted in Romania.In the early 90-ies they started arriving in the west claiming refugee status.They got it and all the legal financial alowance.As the word spread more and more of them would cross the borders ilegally and get the status while romanians were requested a visa even for a few days visit.Whenever the romanian police would try to enforce the law and arrest gipsy crooks,trafikers,smuglers etc.all kind of NGOs and western media would start to yell discrimination,ethnically targeted persecution.So they had no choice but to obey since the country wanted to enter EU,and let the gipsies to organize themseves with both EU and guvernamental funding.You can see the results.Now that these crooks,scammers and fellons have riched your front door,instead of enforcing the law and throw them in jail,they blame Romania again.They are EU citizens and they will go where their scams are more profitable and less risky,like in France,Italy.UK,etc.In Romania are thousand of gipsies who are already integrated and they face the same economic strugles like all of us.Remember…Why risk three years in jail for pickpoketing 50 euros in Bucharest when you can make 500 a day in Paris risk free?Makes sense isnt it?One word…ENFORCE THE LAW and they will either integrate or will go to jail…Give up all that racial discrimination crap…Today being a gipsy is a lifestyle not a race.Nobody in Romania discriminate someone for being culturaly different but for antisocial behavior and is only normal to enforce the socialy accepted customs.
